This fashion design project is about optical illusions. The
inspiration for the design project comes from the eyes of animals.
When humans and animals observe the same object, the visual
information received by human eyes and those of animals is
different. We are accustomed to using just our own standards as
the measurement criteria without consideration for alternative
perspectives . This led me to consider, is the world really as we
see it? Perhaps what a puppy sees is actually the real world?
In my understanding, visual illusions can occur due to trusting
one's own eyes. Human beings will maintain a firm attitude
towards what they see with their own eyes, even though
sometimes this information is deceiving us. For my research, I
studied how humans utilize optical illusions and how they alter
the information received by the eyes through carriers, such as
3d red and blue glasses. In the project, the audience, designers
and wearers all have the right to choose how to view my clothing.
Ykk zippers build a bridge between me and the wearers. By
ingeniously combining Ykk zippers with the silhouette, the shape of
the clothing can be changed by the wearers; for example trousers
can be transformed into skirts. The audience will experience a
different visual effect depending on which view of the clothing they
have, whether this be viewing form the front, back, left and right.
Inspired by 3d red and blue glasses, when the audience wears red
or blue glasses, the silhouette of the clothing will change visually.
The clothing adopts a modular design, and the zippers of Ykk can
help the clothing have the opportunity to be extended in future use
as planned.
